Edelrid Semi-Automatic Belay Devices - Go Outdoors

Meet the PINCH - a new take on belaying that brings versatility, control, and safety into one compact device. Whether you're sport climbing, tackling multi-pitch routes, or using rope access techniques, the PINCH is designed to adapt._It's the first assisted braking device that can attach directly to your harness's central ring. This close-to-body setup gives you full control of the brake rope with all fingers, without needing to lock the device in place when feeding rope. The smart design also gives you extra reach, offering 20-30cm more rope with each payout._Built-in steel braking grooves guide the rope smoothly, cutting down on tangles during lowering or abseiling. The braking speed can be finely adjusted using the lowering lever or your brake hand - ideal when working with thinner or softer ropes. An anti-panic function adds extra peace of mind, especially for newer climbers, but it can be disabled for advanced users with the included screw.Unique to the PINCH, a second braking tier allows even more control when lowering lighter climbers or dealing with high rope friction. And for multi-pitch climbs, the device can be attached to the belay station in four directions, so the lever always stays in the best working position._Compact, clever, and designed for real-world use, the PINCH sets a new standard in belay safety and performance._Assisted braking belay device for versatile use in sport climbing, multi-pitch climbing and rope accessPosition close to the body due to direct harness attachment increases brake rope control and improves usabilityDirect harness attachment eliminates the risk of cross loading the belay carabinerDeactivatable anti-panic function for increased safety by automatically locking the device if the lowering lever is pulled too far backwardsSecond braking tier if the anti-panic function is activated too frequently due to insufficient load and/or excessive rope frictionFrontal steel brake grooves allow the rope to run linearly and ensure less rope tangling, increased durability, and prevent unsightly discolouration that occurs when the rope rubs against aluminiumAttachment to the belay station in four different directions in 90° incrementsEqual operation for right and left-handed usersSuitable for static ropes from 10.0 to 10.5 mm diameter (120 kg max. user weight)Suitable for dynamic ropes from 8.5 to 10.5 mm in diameterApproved rope diameter: 8,5 - 10,5 mmCertification: EN 15151-1Certification: EN 12841-CCertification: UIAA 129Material: Steel/ALUMechanicalUIAA
