Hardy Daphne 'Perfume Princess'- adds colour and scent to your garden. Please note: This product cannot be delivered to Northern Ireland. Quite possibly one of the most fragrant shrubs, Daphne 'Perfume Princess' certainly lives up to its name! Coming into flower in March, a little earlier than other Daphnes, this stunning shrub boasts the most incredible scent. The fragrance is sweetly spicy and comes from flowers that are up to four times larger than any other Daphne. Borne in clusters along the entire length of the stems, they begin as purple buds before opening to beautiful pale pink that gradually fades to white. 'Perfume Princess' is the perfect size for growing in containers as well as in borders and if you position it near to doors or beneath windows its scent will drift through your home. Evergreen, with long, slender leaves, it looks good all year round and will be happy growing in sun are partial shade. It's slow growing and requires little maintenance apart from the removal of damaged stems, forming a neat, rounded shrub. Supplied as an established plant in a 15cm pot, ready to plant, growing to a height and spread of 1.2 m Care Information: Plants will thrive in sun or part-shade with well-drained soil. They don't like dry roots, so water regularly and deeply. Daphne will establish best if planted when the soil is warm between March and October. Dig a hole twice the width of the rootball. Sprinkle in a handful of blood, fish and bone and work into the ground. If your soil is heavy add plenty of well rotted compost to the area and dig it in well. Place the plant into the hole, back-filling so that it is at the same depth as was in the pot. Fill around the root ball and firm the soil down gently but firmly. Water well. Where necessary after flowering, lightly trim to remove misplaced branches and maintain a compact habit, otherwise a quick clear-up of fallen leaves will suffice.
