Primroses are woodland plants, so they love shady areas and look wonderful growing underneath shrubs and trees, and their colour makes them appear to glow in the dappled light, set off by their rosettes or wrinkled, oval evergreen leaves. Occasionally, they will flower for a second time in summer. Over the years they will form large clumps which can be lifted and divided, giving you more and more plants to add to your garden. Very easy to grow, they can be left to their own devices. They just need occasional deadheading and the removal of yellowed leaves to keep them looking tidy.
